After the Bill C-81: Accessible Canada Act (ACA) passed through the House of Commons on November 27, 2018, it moved from the House of Commons Third Reading Stage, and up to the Senate of Canada.
DWCC-CSSSC began writing a letter to the Senate of Canada to ask for an amendment of the bill to: “Recognize LSQ and ASL as official languages of Deaf people in Canada”
It was DWCC’s intention to explain to the Senate how this amendment (add) of ASL and LSQ recognization will impact such public interest accessibility groups as ours. How will it change and improve for us as we participate?
Our group wrote clearly how it would change for our group as we participate with the CRTC proceedings, which is available at the federal level.
This letter helps to point out to the Senate, how the change will impact for information, communication and services at the federal level for our accessibility group.

Après l’adoption du projet de loi C-81: Loi sur le Canada accessible (ACA) à la Chambre des communes le 27 novembre 2018, il est passé de l’étape de la troisième lecture à la Chambre des communes au Sénat du Canada.
DWCC-CSSSC a commencé à écrire au Sénat du Canada pour lui demander de modifier le projet de loi afin de: “Reconnaître la LSQ et l’ASL comme langues officielles des Sourds au Canada”
Le CSSSC avaient l’intention d’expliquer au Sénat la façon dont cet amendement (ajouter) de ASL et de LSQ reconnaissent qu’il aura une incidence sur les groupes d’accessibilité comme le nôtre, axés sur l’intérêt public. Comment cela va-t-il changer et s’améliorer pour nous à mesure que nous participons?
Notre groupe a clairement écrit comment cela changerait pour notre groupe lorsque nous participerions aux procédures du CRTC, qui sont disponibles au niveau fédéral.
Cette lettre aide à indiquer au Sénat l’impact de ce changement sur l’information, la communication et les services au niveau fédéral pour notre groupe d’accessibilité.
