{"id":13729,"date":"2019-04-01T09:21:47","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T16:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.deafwireless.ca\/?p=13729"},"modified":"2019-04-01T09:21:59","modified_gmt":"2019-04-01T16:21:59","slug":"letter-to-senate-of-canada-from-dwcc-csssc-lettre-au-senat-du-canada-de-csssc-dwcc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deafwireless.ca\/index.php\/2019\/04\/01\/letter-to-senate-of-canada-from-dwcc-csssc-lettre-au-senat-du-canada-de-csssc-dwcc\/","title":{"rendered":"Letter to Senate of Canada from DWCC-CSSSC \/ Lettre au S\u00e9nat du Canada de CSSSC- DWCC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>12 February 2019<br>12 f\u00e9vrier 2019 (French follows &#8212; Le fran\u00e7ais suit)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the Bill C-81: Accessible Canada Act (ACA) passed through the House of Commons on November 27, 2018, it moved from the House of Commons Third Reading Stage, and up to the Senate of Canada.<br><br>DWCC-CSSSC began writing a letter to the Senate of Canada to ask for an amendment of the bill to: &#8220;Recognize LSQ and ASL as official languages \u200b\u200bof Deaf people in Canada&#8221;<br><br>It was DWCC&#8217;s intention to explain to the Senate how this amendment (add) of ASL and LSQ recognization will impact such public interest accessibility groups as ours.
