Accessible Emergency Alerts For All: Share Your Feedback in DWCC’s National Survey EN

The Deaf Wireless Canada Consultative Committee (DWCC) is conducting a national survey on the accessibility of Canada’s public emergency alerting system. We want to receive direct input from Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (DDBHH) Canadians about your experiences with alerts on TV, mobile phones, and other devices.

Your feedback will help us present strong evidence in the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)’s ongoing proceeding to ensure that emergency alerts are fully accessible in ASL, LSQ, text, visual icons (emojis), and other formats.

En Anglais seulement, veuillez consulter la publication en français en cliquant ici.

Why Participate?

  • Provide input that will help improve Canada’s emergency alerting system

  • Identify accessibility barriers and share possible solutions

  • Contribute to a national report that will be filed directly with the CRTC

Take the Survey

There are three survey options to meet different accessibility needs:

Paper copies are also available by printing the PDF link at the bottom of this page. Feel free to print and share the flyer with QR codes to help inform others.

The survey is available in English, French, ASL, and LSQ, and takes about 10–15 minutes to complete. Responses are confidential and will be combined into a community report by DWCC and given to the CRTC.
